Annual Tree Give Away

In April of each year we host a Tree Seedling Give Away in honor of Arbor Day. As a conservation District we strive to conserve and protect our soils. Billions of trees are cut down every year to supply the growing demand of our needs. This is one of many ways we serve our community for the good.

Location- Horse Fork Creek Park

Time- 8AM until supplies last

Art & Writing Contest

Each year the Daviess County Conservation District participates in the Jim Claypool Art and Conservation Writing Contest. Any school located in Daviess County can participate and turn in the winning entries to our office. 

The Conservation District will supply poster board. Please call Katelyn at 270-685-1707 ext 3 or email at to get them delivered to your school.

2021 Jim Claypool Art & Conservation Writing Theme

KACD Scholarships

Each year the Kentucky Association of Conservation Districts awards three different scholarships in the amount of $1000.00. These state-wide scholarships are provided by the KACD Auxiliary. The scholarships are due to the District office by March 1st.

The Natural Resources Scholarship is awarded to any any student enrolled in college who has declared a major in the field of agriculture or conservation of natural resources.

The George Crafton Memorial Scholarship is awarded to any high school senior who is enrolled to attend college and intends to major in field of agriculture or related field.

The Betty Barrick Non-Traditional Student Scholarship is awarded to any student that is at least 25 years old and pursuing an undergraduate degree in agriculture or a related natural resource field.
